McPherson Youth Center & Teen PROGRAMS

Empowering the next generation of leaders

Teens are the future leaders of our community and at the Y, we ensure we’re giving them the power to succeed. Through learning opportunities, leadership clubs, drop-in Teen Centers where they can stay active and have safe fun with their peers, volunteer opportunities and our commitment to teen workforce development we’re creating an inviting and inspiring atmosphere for these young adults to thrive. We understand that our teens are a growing population in our communities and we are always looking for new ways to ensure they feel connected to their Y and their community.

Teen Programs, Fitness, Events & Camps

Teens enjoy sports, gymnastics, swimming, e-sports, creative arts, pickleball, exercise and fitness and special events. In our summer camps teens first enjoy learning to become counselors in our counselor in training programs and then eventually working at our Ys as counselors in their later teen years. Use the registration button to search for programs for your teen.

Volunteering/Project Y

Our Y provides many opportunities for teens to volunteer at our Ys and in the community. For instance, each year our teens participate in a community-wide service project, affectionately named “PROJECT Y” where more than 200 youth and teens embark on various community cleanup and beautification projects. Service hours completed are awarded to help with their required community service hours before graduation.

Workforce Development

Our YMCA has always been a leader in teen workforce development, providing countless teens in our communities with their first jobs and access to positive mentors to teach them the skills they need to have a successful future in the workforce. Today, our Y has recommitted to being a leader in Teen Workforce Development through our own programs and community partnerships we are developing tomorrow’s leaders!
