We have established a partnership with McLean Hospital’s School Consultation Service. In preparation for summer camp, they conducted a thorough needs assessment with our camp leaders and inclusion specialists. Using the data gathered they trained nearly 300 staff in-person and by video to better support the mental health of our campers and staff themselves. To ensure the training was integrated into the summer camp experience, the McLean team met with camp teams every week.
Cartwheel is a trusted mental health partner to schools that helps kids and families get back on their feet when they’re struggling. Cartwheel typically partners with school systems directly to provide virtual, evidence-based mental health care to students, family support, and psychiatric medication services. For the first time, Cartwheel is partnering with a community organization, our Y, to provide mental health services to even more children in our school districts with no waitlists.
